Floyd Boosts Philadelphia WRFC
Monday, 02 November 2009 14:02
Alison Floyd, Former Two Year Captain
With Her Former Coach, Kristin Aliberto

Like many recently graduated college players Alison Floyd hadn't really planned on playing rugby after college. Floyd was invited to help out with LSWR's early season practices and a funny thing happened, she knew she wasn't quite done with rugby, at least not yet.

Former coach Kristin Aliberto describes how it progressed:

"First she wanted to know if she could get a ride to practice. Then she wanted to know if she could play with us (Philadelphia WRFC) this weekend. Then she wanted to know if she could play in the senior side game this weekend. And by Thursday she wanted to know if she might start in that game. That's just the type of person she is, so competitive, I can't imagine her playing recreational anything, she always plays hard."

Floyd has played in every league match this fall for Philadelphia and has started the last five games for Philadelphia, all of them at number five, behind her former coach.

Among Floyd's 5 Starts this Fall Were Both Games of Nationals

La Salle Taking it to the Next Level-Collegian

The men’s and women’s rugby teams are under new leadership this season, as both teams hired new coaches over the summer. Lou Gana, the head coach of the men’s team, looks to take the team to new territory, while Head coach Ali El-Kerdi looks to keep the winning tradition here with the women’s team. See the entire story here.
