Goff On Rugby Ranks La Salle 16th in the Nation PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 17 October 2008 20:28

For the second week in a row the Explorers are listed among the top 20 DII teams in the country according to Goff On Rugby. (subscription required) Ranked 20th last week, LSWR was commended for its close loss to the University of Delaware, ranked by Goff as #2 in the country, "No. 2 (sic) Delaware won over #20 LaSalle, but in a way that makes LaSalle look for real, so they move up." LSWR is now ranked 16th in the country but continues to trail EPRU rivals the University of Delaware and Shippensburg University.

Goff on Rugby ranks Shippensburg University, last year's DII national champions, as #1 in the country. They continued their winning ways by dismantling previously undefeated Temple University 51-5. With two weeks left in league play it appears that LSWR will face Shippensburg in the first round of EPRU DII playoffs and that Temple will face the University of Delaware.

La Salle Taking it to the Next Level-Collegian

The men’s and women’s rugby teams are under new leadership this season, as both teams hired new coaches over the summer. Lou Gana, the head coach of the men’s team, looks to take the team to new territory, while Head coach Ali El-Kerdi looks to keep the winning tradition here with the women’s team. See the entire story here.
