Second Half Rally Isn't Enough Against the University of Delaware PDF Print E-mail

La Salle Women's Rugby fell to the University of Delaware 27-17 in a exciting match at Edgley Field. It was a game of two halves. The University of Delaware touched down four times and added a penalty kick before half time. LSWR woke up in the second half, playing in Delaware's end for the majority of the remaining time but could only manage three tries despite their vast advantage in second half possession.

Explorers Take Part in “Out of Darkness” Walk PDF Print E-mail

Team members, coaches and parents of LSWR took part in the “Out of Darkness” walk last Sunday. The event is designed to raise awareness and funds for the fight against suicide and depression. Starting at the Art Museum the walk took the team along scenic Martin Luther King Drive before turning around near Montgomery Drive. All in all 20 plus members of the LSWR family walked the 5 mile course in the support of this great cause. The Flanagan family graciously hosted a very hungry team after the event. Thank you to everyone who came out to support this very worth cause.

Rugby comes on campus Saturday the 25th as LSWR takes on Bryn Mawr in McCarthy Stadium. Kick off time is 3:00pm.

Explorers Blank D1 American in a Friendly, 25-0 PDF Print E-mail

LSWR traveled to the DC area to face D1 American in a non league match. The Explorers came away with a 25-0 win, aided by two tries from sophomore fullback Brittany Mckenna.

LSWR Secures EPRU Playoff Birth With Big Win Over UPenn PDF Print E-mail

LSWR moved to 3-0 in league play this fall with 54-0 victory over cross town rivals the University of Pennsylvania. The Explorers scored in the opening moments of the game and never looked back.  La Salle used all of their offensive tools with tries coming from Brittany McKenna, Mary-Kate Kimiecik, Julia Walsh, Patti Flanagan, Maria Muscara, and Christina Foley.

La Salle Wins at Home, 39-5 Over Bloomsburg PDF Print E-mail

LSWR moved to 2-0 in their league season with a decisive victory over visiting Bloomsburg 39-5. La Salle and Bloomsburg were both 1-0 in league playing going into the match after large victories over Kutztown University. However the Explorer's defense was simply too stingy for the visitors. The explorers put up their best result of the season without starting scrumhalf Jessica Wallace.
